Vital microscopic and reflection spectrometric studies on the effect of the „BEMER 3000“ on the functional status of the microcirculation (2004)
Rainer Klopp, MD - Report from the Institute for Microcirculation, Berlin
AVM - Surface area under the envelope of the original amplitude frequency spectrum of the arteriolar and venule vasomotion
nWBC/A - Number of adhering white blood cells to the definitive venule wall (A= 18000 um2)
ICAM-1 – Adhesion molecule
nWBC/A relates to the condition of the endogenous defense (1st step in the immune response). nNP, Qart, Qven and AVM define the functional status of the microcirculation in the target tissue.
Complementary to these measurements, oxygen utilization (oxygen utilization, ∆O2) was also determined as a quotient on the venule side.
The studies were done primarily suing in vitro microscopy, a high-sensitivity and high-resolution procedure with a high-frequency camera (120 images per second) connection. 28 healthy subjects, randomized into 2 groups (placebo group and treatment group). The BEMER 3000 EMF was activated for 2 minutes at level 3 using the mask and then switched off. Collection of the measurement data was done in this period. At the 4 and 6 minute points after reactivation secondary observations were made.
